Objective: 

This course will enable the students to-

  1. Understand the key historical, social, and political influences on fashion from 1900 to the present.
  2. Identify major fashion movements and iconic styles of each era.
  3. Recognize the contributions of influential designers throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

CO281: Explain the costumes of beginning of couture

CO282:Identify key elements of 1920s flapper style and 1930s glamour, including silhouettes, fabrics, and accessories.

CO283:Explain the impact of World War II on fashion during 1940–1946, including fabric rationing, utility garments

CO284: Understand the cultural shift towards consumerism, career ambition, and genderpolitics reflected in fashion from the late 1970s to the 1980s.

 CO285: Describe fabrics, techniques and drapes of 19 centuries and will be able to introduce to today's fashion industry in a more creative way

CO286: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction
